You need to reset your Windows password again.
In short: Kaspersky wiped out my Windows setup, I’m trying to reinstall but the passwords aren’t working. I’m confused about whether I need a PIN or something else and don’t know if reinstalling with a USB will erase everything on the drive. I have two drives—one SSD for boot and one HDD for storage—and I’m worried the HDD data might be lost. Can I disconnect the HDD during installation? And why can’t I locate my password? It’s really frustrating!
Install using a USB drive is the simplest method. It removes all data. Skipping the HDD setup is okay. You can also remove your HDD if needed.
Ensure the correct drive is selected before installing Windows. Yes, it’s advised that Windows may not place the bootloader on the intended drive during setup. Did you log in with a Microsoft account? Reset your password using the recovery email and security questions if needed. For local accounts, there are methods to bypass the login screen.
