Hello everyone, I'm trying to switch my single-channel RAM to dual-channel and increase the capacity from 8GB to 16GB. However, it seems the same brand is out of stock due to the impact of Covid-19. Right now, I'm using Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8GB x 1 in my PC (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories...ngeance®-…). My main concern is whether mixing RAM brands is okay. If yes, could you assist me in picking one?

The Corsair site appears to allow purchasing the same RAM product again, possibly due to a restock or updated inventory.

I reside in India and corsair works with platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Walmart, etc., but their websites display items as unavailable.

You don’t have to buy the same set. Just get a basic DDR3 1600, which should be affordable.

It appears items are available but the costs have risen significantly. The reasons aren’t clear, but it might be due to market changes. Previously, a similar item was about 40 USD or Rs. 3000.

Checking if it's safe to use different brands is important. Compatibility issues can vary, but many products work well across brands. It's best to review the specific details for each brand you're considering.
