No, it wasn't the games' fault. Have you fixed it?

Close all desktop applications. Halt your browser. Execute origin with admin privileges. Fix or confirm the game. Maintain origin access, and launch the BF4 64-bit shortcut on your desktop as an administrator.

The issue isn't with the games themselves; everyone else appears to be functioning properly.

Typically, when a game fails, it often points to the game's own issue rather than external factors. A functioning game for some users doesn't serve as a reliable indicator of fault, since even poorly performing games usually work for many players. The shutdown is likely due to a crash or loss of connection. You might be disconnected because of high ping. Check if any error messages appear in Battlelog after the game ends.

It was merely the server updating its maps, which is why the game feels so poorly constructed. It runs smoothly on my system, but from a software standpoint, it’s quite disappointing.

It's not. Something must be on your end.

I haven't played BF4, but I've watched how it works and it performs well. Believing something isn't okay on your part shows a lack of understanding.
