I aim for at least four physical cores. If you intend to maintain the system for years after buying, adding six or eight cores could be beneficial. A dual-core processor like the Pentium G4560 works fine if you're on a tighter budget but may struggle with high FPS in certain games.

Many systems should work with two cores easily, though advanced titles may need four cores. It’s best not to go below that. If cost is a concern, a Pentium G4560 or an i3 7100 will suffice for most scenarios.

Threads still count for Overwatch. My lowest settings are solid on my i5 in Overwatch. The R5 1600 ran slower than my CPU, but it had a better minimum. That’s why I went for the 6700. Just need some time to set it up.
