Sure, but if it fails you still get 8GB, meeting the basic need for quick office tasks. Think about adding a 2.5" SSD if your setup lacks one. With RAM boosted to 8GB and a slower SSD, your efficiency will really improve.

It seems you only have the HDD available, so I can't really purchase an SSD at the moment.

It's actually quite quick to get updates, even the longer ones. I'm not planning to spend much on this PC because it was bought for me unexpectedly for $1000. (It was a bundle, wish they'd mentioned they were getting a computer, and with that budget I could've made a gaming rig from scratch.) A small RAM boost would really help things. I'm thinking of selling it soon—my monitor and the desktop are already included.
