I’m experiencing low frame rates in all games I play. CPU utilization stays around 20% while the GPU caps at 45%. All drivers are current, and I’ve enabled the GPU to use up to 107% power. I’m using RAM with two 8GB modules and a 165Hz monitor. My power supply is RM850X. I’m checking CPU-Z Performance data and see power, voltage, and clock stats. People are reporting R9 5900X achieving 150 FPS at higher settings on the same resolution, whereas I’m getting 60-80 FPS max. Would anyone have advice on whether to upgrade to the R9 5900X or look for an alternative?
Hi there, Your GPU performance at 45% might indicate a problem since it shouldn't drop below 99% if everything is optimized. Have you checked with tools like 3DMark or Furmark to confirm your GPU can handle full workloads? Other suggestions: 1. Ensure BIOS is current 2. Clean DDU display drivers and reinstall 3. Consider a fresh Windows installation to eliminate software issues.
Hello, I ran some benchmarks and found that the GPU reaches full utilization with a 9600 in the GL 1440p display, achieving slightly better performance than what I saw online. On the GL 1080p I got around 13200. Also, my RAM usage stays at about 50% even during startup, and my BIOS seems quite old—maybe that’s the issue, but I’m not sure if the CPU is the bottleneck.
The RAM speed control is activated within the BIOS settings of the motherboard.
