Looking for a solid router for gaming on a single computer. You need Ethernet support and something reliable for one device. Since you're not familiar with routers, consider whether to set up a private network or extend your existing one. The DIR-867-US looks promising but might be overkill. Your best bet is to choose a good gaming router with built-in Ethernet for stable performance.

Basic. You’re looking for any router that functions well. Could you please answer these: 1. Did your ISP supply a modem or the one you own, including router combo options? (Your modem offers Wi-Fi and has Ethernet ports on the back) 2. What speed do you receive from your ISP? 3. What is your budget? *These details will assist the group in making a solid choice!*

I own a modem labeled with the ISP's name, so I believe it's the router. My dad often calls it that. I'm unsure how to verify this but checked fast.com and got 180 kbps. The price range is about $50 to $150, which is acceptable for me.

If you're not using Wi-Fi, consider upgrading to a more powerful router such as the one listed here.

The issue is that it's very far away from me, and my father doesn't want to move the router because it could cause problems for everyone else. PING ms 18 DOWNLOAD Mbps 74.25 UPLOAD Mbps 11.64

You might consider Power Over Ethernet. Since you don't require a router, just connect your computer. Or you could install a Wi-Fi repeater.

You'll require a Wi-Fi extender or repeater. Consider enrolling in a quick crash course on networking fundamentals. Or watch this video:
