I'm checking the XPS 15 9500 specs, but in Norway I can't use it with the i7-10875H—only the i7-10750H works. Do you think the difference will be noticeable? Since you're a web developer, you probably don't do heavy rendering.

Actually, the situation is different. The XPS will still limit performance due to thermal constraints, which means the 8-core setup won’t significantly boost it beyond what the already reduced 6-core version provides. For web development, you generally don’t require such high power levels.

Are you running software capable of fully utilizing all cores for extended periods to handle intensive tasks? A larger core count could be beneficial in such scenarios. If you rarely encounter this setup, performance may remain comparable. What tools are you currently using? This can serve as a benchmark.

I prefer simple tools, my desktop is enough. On my laptop, I mainly rely on VSCode and IntelliJ for coding.

Looking for recent projects involving multi-core systems. Ideally something using databases with hyper-threading support. A 6-core i7 should work well, and the performance gap shouldn’t be obvious.

They keep making the same models with Intel processors, but newer ones like the XPS use better chips from AMD. Other laptops such as the Zephyrus G14 run on AMD Ryzen 9 series and offer superior performance.

Despite Intel's manufacturing challenges, they maintain a tenfold advantage in output over AMD. The available supply wouldn't meet the needs driven by AMD's constraints. Efforts are underway to resolve this issue, though it remains a significant obstacle.
