Wouldn't it be easier just to use AFUDOS and flash a G33MO3 BIOS on your G33MO2? (Just your guess, I haven't touched AFUDOS before) Perhaps consider adding the Q6600 if you haven't already got 505 as an FSB record for the 975 chipset; 598 is a FSB record for the G33 chipset. Honestly, it might be smarter to purchase a B250 or Z270 if you can find any at a reasonable price instead of going all the way down to LGA 775. The experience is fun, but with boards that lack BIOS options it'll be tough—especially since setting PLD by setFSB isn't an option and you'll need to do voltage adjustments just to power the CPU and memory properly.
Consider selling your computer components to see if you can assemble a better build. I don’t think you’ll enjoy working on a 775 unless you play games, have a quad-core processor (preferably with OC), and at least 8GB of RAM (4GB DDR2 sticks are available and often aimed at AMD systems). Newer chipsets than the 900 series should support 4GB DDR2 DRAM.
Oh, then OC will be out of the question unles bsel mod obviously you know this already. I'll have to look. I might have some old hardware laying around I could let go cheap. If you're interested, lmk. Take a look for you, but probably not till late tonight. (After 9pm central time)
Thats what Im planning on doing, but I need a pc in the meantime (hence interim in the title)
I’m thinking about selling my old components and getting a Zen 3 chip and board, but this is just a temporary plan, so the title reflects that.
