Hello everyone, I'm starting my first build and have been eagerly anticipating the B550 for a solid upgrade path ahead. Should I invest in it now or wait for a better price on the B450? PCPartPicker lists the parts I need along with their prices. The Ryzen 3 3300X is £119.99, DDR4 memory is £69.12, the Crucial P1 is £63.43, and the case is £52.47. The graphics card and power supply are priced at £170.48 and £52.56 respectively. All costs are shown with shipping, taxes, and discounts included, bringing the total to £540.04. I'm stuck waiting with my PC upgrade—CPU, RAM, and case are all set, but I still can't find a motherboard. I've been checking Microcenter, Newegg, and other sites hoping for something decent. My logic says I should hold off until the B550 comes out soon. Still, I found a Microcenter with an Aorus Elite Wifi X570 for $210, about a 4-hour drive away. Is that enough? Should I wait for the cheaper B550 models instead? Also, I'm curious if any new boards will be in stock on launch day—could be a big rush!
Great offer. I was a bit surprised the Aorus Elite didn’t include USB-C, though it wasn’t a major issue at that price. For another point, my main motivation was upgrading my existing setup (i7-3770K) into a new case. I opted for your popular Meshify C model—this will be my first AMD build. I’ve always preferred Intel before, and I know I should have tried AMD sooner, especially after building a PC for my brother in 2003 with an Athlon XP 2600.
