Maximum performance at 60 frames per second, consistently, regardless of the impact on your graphics card.

Display quality and clarity until the computer reaches 20 frames per second, then reduce the detail a bit (lowering AA from x16 to x2). I prioritize knowing when native 8K will be possible without upscaling or supersampling—more important than frame rates for capturing particle accelerator data.

720p works well on a CRT display. I’d rather use the Ludovico Technique method than stick with a CRT, even if it’s better.

After more consideration, I selected the "F U" choice since 2160p isn’t included in this survey. @MadAnt250 I liked the 1920x1440 display on my 22" NEC. I didn’t like the discomfort from moving it. I’m betting on the better appearance of CRT panels fading away when we use 8k panels at 240hz.

We're getting close to 500hz panels. An 80hz CRT won't compete with that, I think.

1080p "gaming" screens often fall short in color accuracy and smooth motion. The 500hz setting feels excessive at the moment, and we don’t have a clear idea of the future price for such devices. In my opinion, I’d probably favor a decent CRT over what’s currently available.

Initially this "500Hz" display isn't available yet and no official specs exist for it. It's focused on response time rather than refresh rate, which is why even a 500Hz TFT panel falls short compared to CRTs. The BOE monitor claims a 2ms reaction time, while CRTs typically have around 0.01ms. Achieving such low latency with OLEDs would require a refresh rate near 100,000Hz. If a company could produce a 24-inch 1440p/120Hz CRT at about $500, I’d switch to it immediately for gaming and use IPS panels only on my sim-racing rig. I’m aware of the Sony GDM Trinitron, but it’s extremely expensive—around €5000 for what looks decent. I appreciate it, but I’m not Linus.

Despite this, the human eye struggles to see details under 10 milliseconds... In my opinion, the 'CRT MASTER RACE' concept reminds me of those who cling to Plasma TVs forever.
