Hello, Your PC isn't responding after a minor impact on the bottom. I've tried all the usual fixes—resetting CMOS, re-seating RAM, swapping slots, testing cables, using another monitor, disconnecting disks, etc. I need to visit a shop tomorrow and want to be prepared. You have an MSI Z270 PC Mate with an I7-7700 VENGEANCE LPX 16GB RAM kit. If the motherboard fails, what should I consider buying? I prefer not to upgrade to Intel but aren't keen on downgrading. The PC was about 3½ years old, and conditions may have changed. Any suggestions for good value? Also, do you need a full ATX case? Thanks!

You can use any 100 or 200 chipset board, but I've used the ASRock Z270 Extreme4 for years and it's performed well. It's a solid choice and worth considering if available.
