I just increased my RAM speed from 2400 cl15 to 2666 cl14 without raising the voltage (1.2). Is it safe to maintain this setting? Also, I did this overclock with MSI memory—results were very cautious, even with the primary CL timing reduced. It seems that’s likely why it functions at all. Please perform a stability test on your RAM overclock before using it for important tasks.

An outstanding tool and free. Check the manual. Another memory check is included in Windows 10—just type 'Windows Memory Diagnostic' into search/Cortana. It will initiate a restart into a non-GUI mode to run the tests.

It's unusual, typically you need to boost timings to raise speed without raising voltage. I wouldn't settle for that. You might run into problems later with instability and may need to further adjust timings than the default to keep things running smoothly.
If you're aiming to overclock your RAM, why not try increasing both voltage and timings to reach 3000?
