So often... I might have damaged my Minecraft jar, which is frustrating. I was attempting to set up Tale of Kingdoms Mode because I heard it works well and I had nothing else to do, but I messed things up! Here are my questions: 1. Where can I locate the 1.8 ToK Mod since I only found 1.7.10? 2. How can I reinstall my Minecraft jar without losing my saved worlds, especially since I have quite large worlds? 3. Are there any other strong story-based mods that require a lot of resources, given my laptop’s condition? Thanks for your assistance!
Uncertain about version 1 and 3 because I haven't played Minecraft recently. However, save Worlds here: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves. Backup it and restore it after reinstalling.
You can simply reinstall it through the launcher, as mentioned... http://www.minecraftmods.biz/tale-of-kingdoms-mod/
Saves are kept in the .minecraft/saves folder. Removing the .jar file will trigger a new download when you start the game again.
For convenience, consider using MultiMC or at least MagicLauncher when playing anything beyond vanilla Minecraft. Configure an instance of the desired Minecraft version (like Release 1.7.10), launch it once to obtain the necessary files, then modify as needed. You can toggle mods on or off and manage multiple versions simultaneously without interference or the need to copy-paste them. Simply double-click the Instance icon to start it. The Feed-The-Beast launcher is also a good option for quickly accessing pre-made modpacks, allowing you to share fixes if issues arise during gameplay.
Navigate to Minecraft files, enter the "Saves" folder, and paste all world data onto the desktop or any preferred location
