I reviewed Windows 10 on my laptop recently, but after a year I stopped using it and left it unattended. My password got forgotten, so I reset it via Outlook and can access my emails, but I’m unable to log in to the computer.

Does it have internet access? If you're using a Microsoft account, the system should reflect that.

Connect it to the Ethernet port and input an incorrect password. If it prompts you to reset your password after entering the wrong one (instead of using the last one on the computer), allow it to restart and it should have updated the password by then.
