Based on what you've heard, it seems to have a poor reputation or an unsatisfactory conclusion. Would you still suggest it despite that? You mentioned having a powerful setup ready for high-quality gaming.
Consider playing the game to understand the character and story, even if the gameplay isn't great. Try it on easy settings. Alternatively, obtain ME2 and the Origins DLC. In short, collect all three and the major DLC if you can find it cheaply. Be ready for disappointment.
You're forced to face every challenge head-on without relying on any instructions. Experiencing the conclusion in this way adds depth to the narrative, making the emotional moments more impactful when you unintentionally harm your beloved allies due to insufficient preparation.
You might enjoy finishing a trilogy but still miss the conclusion because it doesn’t match your expectations or interests.
I started with ME3 and I ended up loving it so much I went for the other two. The ending actually wasn't as bad as people make it seem. I say you will be fine starting with it but I strongly recommend you pick up the trilogy while it s 14.99$ as it is a great deal on a great series.
The conclusion isn't exactly what you hoped for, but if you're committed to the series and want to be fully immersed, Mass Effect 3 is essential. If you're not expecting much from the ending beforehand, it won't bothers you as much as it did some passionate critics. The experience matters most. If you planned to bypass ME1, skip it—it's the combat and loot systems are quite lacking, making it easy to jump through all the options in the player save with the ME2 "comic book" expansion instead. Still, I recommend giving it a try at least once.
