checked it multiple times on the rams; it functions in slot 1. however, when I moved the RAM to slot 2 via the motherboard, it stopped loading properly. The system displays power but shuts down. I assumed the PSU was faulty, so I replaced it, but the issue remains. The slot 2 recommendation on the motherboard seems correct. Can I install another RAM in slot 3 without any issues? 8Gb HyperX Kingstone 2x

I think I'll try that to check if slot 2 functions. However, I attempted slots 3 and 4 with a 2x8 configuration and it worked, so I'm not sure why I should wait after reseating the CPU.

If it doesn’t work, check your motherboard and identify the paired slots—typically 1&3 and 2&4. Also, file a return if possible, since it’s worth the effort.

Rma? Also, the board slot mentioned slot 1 and 2 are paired, while slots 3 and 4 shouldn't be mixed. The RAM slot near the processor is actually slots 4, 2, 3, and 1. I used 3 and 4 earlier, that's my mistake.

It might be dirt in the slot, faulty RAM, poor CPU pin contact, or dead RAM channels. The motherboard could also be the issue, though less likely. You can use RMA to return the product for warranty support.

Based on that numbering, dual channel typically involves slots 1 and 2. The layout often features 2 and 4 in one channel, while 1 and 3 in the other. As long as each channel has one module—one in the left pair and one in the right pair—you achieve dual channel operation. Placing two modules on the same side (left 2 or right 2) results in single channel mode.
