Request a payment of 75k euros to the surge protector. I'm following @Electronics Wizardy's advice—likely a brownout occurred, not a surge. The surge protector failed to stop the restart; the PSU handled it, with capacitors bridging the issue.
Is it risky? You're right to worry—some components might be damaged, which could lead to issues over time.
Its pretty unlikely to be a saftey risk. I would keep using it like normal. Generally performance doesn't degrade in a computer. With most of these chips they work or they don't except for things like cooling getting dirty for example. Check clock speeds if you want to be sure to make sure its clocking to the rated speed.
lights going out typically means a brownout. Usually harmless unless you're trying to guard against brownouts (which aren't power surges). If everything worked fine, nothing happened. It might mess up data, but that's often fixable. The PSU manages brief brownouts in microseconds. UPS handles longer or more frequent brownouts in milliseconds.
It happens occasionally during storms, and I’ve dealt with static shocks that caused shutdowns. Once the PC came back online, everything seemed fine. These issues aren’t serious, just minor setbacks. Restarting should fix it. Just be careful not to rely too much on others’ advice—sometimes they don’t understand what’s really going on.
I’m finding your tone a bit rude and disrespectful. Who are you to judge whether people want assistance? You shouldn’t tell others they won’t help. This space is for asking questions and supporting one another, no matter how often I post. If you’re willing to help, it would mean a lot. If not, you can simply ignore the message. Thank you for joining and for your interest in helping—your prompt replies are appreciated, but they don’t give you the right to speak to me that way.
I've noticed this pattern. Responses gradually fade and new questions often go unanswered. My goal isn't to decide who should help, but to share what I observe. Since I'm not dictating answers, I've revised my post to remove any tone that might seem dismissive. I'm not here to rush through the same question repeatedly; people either engage or move on. We've provided assistance and responses, but it feels like our input isn't valued. I'm attempting to present a different perspective, just as you're asking. Please understand my intentions are clear.
Check how it performs for you. Another person tried this too. They rarely post anymore. Many people stop caring once they receive a correct and clear response but decide to ask again instead.
