I recently switched to gigabit internet with FTTH. The modem works well, but I’m frustrated with the interface—it’s difficult to use, many settings are missing or unclear. The Wi-Fi signal is very weak and doesn’t reach the next room despite full power. This seems to be contributing to my ongoing issues. After the upgrade, my game ping fluctuates between about 50 and 90-130, dropping every 10 to 30 seconds. I checked using ping-test.org on both wired and wireless setups, and the numbers matched what I experienced in-game. The connection uses PPPoE, but I didn’t face problems with slower packages or a separate router. Now the router I have acts as an access point, giving Wi-Fi throughout the house, yet it doesn’t seem to resolve my problem. The ISP isn’t helping either, leaving me with no solutions.
I’m just getting back and summarizing my observations. The issue had two parts: my router was in a different time zone, which confused me, and I noted that an 8 cm layer of concrete isn’t ideal for Wi-Fi.
