Consider your existing setup and the specs you have. Your current RAM is 8GB at 3200MHz, and you're thinking about upgrading to 16GB at the same speed. Check your motherboard manual or BIOS settings to confirm compatibility—some systems support higher speeds without extra steps. There isn’t a standard way to overclock RAM beyond the manufacturer’s limits, so you likely won’t need XMP or any special software unless your motherboard supports it natively. Since your current machine already runs Intel i5-11400F and has an RTX 3060, upgrading RAM should work smoothly if the hardware allows.

Crucial appears to match the PC specifications listed. Additional upgrade compatibility sources are provided for further reference.

OEM PCs from manufacturers like Acer and Dell typically handle XMP settings themselves. I should mention that my observations are mainly about laptops and the Dell OptiPlex 3020 SFF model.

It looks like you're weighing two choices: classic and pro. The pro version specifies a 3200mhz frequency with XMP enabled, while the classic option doesn't mention XMP. Based on this, opting for the classic version seems appropriate since it includes the key specification you're interested in.

vanpuffelen could be correct, the OEM devices may allow XMP to work automatically, so I’d opt for 3200Mhz CL14-16 cards instead of the CL22 ones Crucial suggests.

He could easily purchase a 2x16GB DDR4 3200MT/s module at a reasonable cost per gigabyte. I’m not sure their origin, but PCPartPicker lets you locate affordable bundles.

A similar 3200mhz JEDEC kit (compatible with OEM) would fit. https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4dfra32a
Back in the day, there was a plug-and-play XMP RAM option for DDR3 desktops.
