I'm trying to upgrade the CPU on my old M.Z Boards X58 Pro, but I can't locate the cooler bracket or a new pin I haven't seen. The CPU bracket has been unscrewed, which is good. This might be a beginner project—please let me know if you need guidance!

Examining the images, the left picture indicates that the device doesn't unscrew. To extract it, use needle-nose pliers and gently squeeze the two tips together, pulling until it comes out. Usually, a few attempts are needed to get it free—just keep squeezing until the gap closes. Alternatively, you can trim the end shown in the picture with a hot-tipped knife or similar tool, which might be simpler. Take care and good luck.
