You can't reach your computer from outside.
I have an old TV camera called TD Vision DVR, and I can watch the video stream connected to it using an Android app named XMEye. I want to see the video right from my computer wherever I go without any special tricks. I was able to see the video on my home network by typing in 192.168.1.108 inside my internet explorer. I set up port forwarding in my Zyxel modem so that it sends traffic from Port 80 to Port 80. But when I put my modem's outside IP address into the browser, a page asking for login shows up and I type my user name and password, but then it says it can't find the device. What should I do about this problem?
It seems like there might be more than one set of ports needed. Your data is likely moving across a different port. Go ahead and look up that model number online to find out how to connect things properly.
There is another place where I made a port forwarding change, but the problem stays the same. The normal web page port is 80, and my media file port was 34568. I changed it to 7001, 8000, or 200, but nothing works now. It's not possible to go back to the original media port because the system says there is a conflict. To fix this on internet explorer, an extra plugin was needed before installing. Connecting from outside my home network used to work with no error, but inside the network it didn't show video. After adding the plugin, connections from outside still say I can't find the device while everything works fine when connected from inside the house.
Thanks a bunch, but it worked out! I changed my web server to listen on port 7000 and the media player to use port 7001. Then I made sure both devices talked directly to each other by setting up port forwarding so that connections start at 7000 and end up at 7001.
I am able to watch the video on my PC using Chrome, but my Android phone still won't work because there isn't a proper plugin for it. The only option I have right now is Puffin, but that app cannot even reach the internet from my phone.
Do you know how to install an Android Chrome plugin to watch a DVR video stream? Is there another browser besides Puffin to watch videos on the DVR from your Android phone?
You have to try some good camera viewing apps? My pick is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...ViewerPaid
I tried using this app, but it does not connect to my DVR. Instead of a live video feed, I just get one blurry picture that never changes.
