The default setting is 2x, with one false frame between two real ones. You can only turn it on to double the framerate—nothing more, nothing less. For 50 series, DLSS enables multi-frame generation, producing 3 to 4 frames at a time, which can triple or quadruple the actual FPS. I believe multi-frame generation is overhyped, even with solutions like Lossless Scaling Frame Generation; I only suggest 2x for most situations.
