Navigate to network and sharing options. Click on Change Adapter Settings. Right-click your Ethernet adapter and select Properties. Click Configure on the opened Advanced tab. Review Speed & Duplex settings—see what they were set to during the problem and without it. If needed, choose Auto Negotiation or 1GBps Full Duplex.

You're right to check the cable first—it seems more likely a hardware issue than a connection problem. The port might also be the source of the issue.

No, the lights on your Ethernet port or router do not glow.

I've already tested numerous cables and routers, yet the issue remains unchanged. The Ethernet light still glows the same as with the router. It might be a problem with the motherboard.

Have you attempted to reinstall the motherboard's LAN drivers?

It seems there may be an issue with your MoBo's connection or the internet link from your wall into your home. To check the latter, does your router offer WiFi access for your phone or tablet? If yes, are you experiencing any problems with internet speed? If not, it likely points to a hardware concern with your PC. Your MoBo appears to be somewhat outdated, and the port might be worn down. Cheap Ethernet cards could help resolve the problem. If your router supports WiFi, consider using a USB WiFi adapter to test it. EDIT: Also, look into what @Fasauceome shared about the LAN driver—though inconsistent performance is more likely a hardware issue.

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried the settings several times to verify functionality, but initially it was set to auto negotiation. Switching to 1GBps Full Duplex seems to have improved boot-up speed, though it hasn’t reached maximum performance. I still need to connect and disconnect the Ethernet cable multiple times to reach full speed. It’s also affecting other devices—changing drivers frequently causes my connection to drop, returning me to a slow state until I reconnect the cable. My download speed has jumped from 40mbps to 250mbps, which is unusual for Australia. This seems out of the ordinary; perhaps it’s related to the new fiber installation. I haven’t experienced issues with other PCs, TVs, or tablets, only this specific machine. Could a BIOS flash resolve the issue?

However, the remaining part of the home should not have internet access.

It could seem quite confusing... Your connection is configured as private, not open. Correct?
