Transfer the hard drive to a different computer, then access it as any other external storage device and retrieve the files you wish to move.

I'm unable to proceed since the hard drive lacks SATA connectivity, and the existing cables aren't compatible with my current PC.

Does it include a CD-ROM slot? You can create a LiveCD. It allows booting into Linux. Online searches show recovery possibilities via this method. I’ve tried it before, so it seems okay. Uncertain if it violates forum guidelines, so I won’t share the steps.

The computer I need to retrieve files from lacks a functional CD drive. It’s sad it’s no longer working.

Yes, there are guides for that. You can download the Linux installer to a USB drive and boot it using BIOS.

I’ve tried using LiLi previously and achieved solid outcomes. Alternatively, you can install another Linux distribution and employ Rufus to generate a bootable USB. LiLi link: https://www.pendrivelinux.com/linux-live-usb-creator/

Spare CD/DVD drives are commonly found everywhere. I have around ten of them, and they’ve all been thrown away over the years.
