You don’t require a hard drive; just an empty USB flash drive works, and you can use programs to install the Windows ISO.

I stored this on my external drive, which holds Windows ISOs.

Download the Windows Vista, 7 or 8/8.1 ISO you need. (For example, Windows XP won’t work with Vista.) Use a large USB drive and insert it into your computer. Format the USB as NTFS. Then follow the installer link: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-u...-as-1-2-3/. After installation finishes (or it lets you run the program during setup), go to the bottom and pick the Windows installer. If using Vista, select Vista; for 7 choose 7; for 8/8.1 choose 8. Once done, restart your system and choose the USB in the boot menu. Windows should launch and the setup should begin.
