I encountered an issue with my PC and realized the only solution was to reinstall Windows. The process involves resetting everything, so you won’t need to re-enter your key. It should restore everything to a clean state. (You’re using Windows 10 Pro.)

It's simple. First, save all your files to an external hard drive or SSD. Next, create a Windows 10 ISO file using Microsoft’s website and load it onto a USB drive (search for 'ISO to USB'). Connect the USB to your computer during startup and follow any prompts. You might need to press a key to access the boot menu. After installation, you can enter the activation key if needed. If you use a notebook or have a pre-built system, you may already have recovery options ready to activate.

The key becomes connected to your device immediately after you activate it for the first time. It will stay active as long as your motherboard remains unchanged.

I just completed a fresh restart and noticed several problems were resolved without needing to copy my backup files. Even with Reslio sync for my important documents, the reset felt smooth and fast. I had to reinstall the app, but since I had an installer backup on my NAS, it was quick to get everything back up and running.

Windows 10 works across devices, not just one specific one. It relies on your Microsoft account. Log in with your MS account and connect it. This lets you reactivate your new PC whenever you want—just carry the license with you. The validity period is uncertain, possibly up to ten years, but someone should clarify. For pre-build installations without keys, use this link: https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor. You can scan all keys from your system and save them. For Windows 10 ISO, download the Media Creation Tool, create a USB stick, and follow the instructions carefully. The size needed is usually 4GB or 8GB depending on your choice. If you need help with Windows 7 activation, check this discussion thread. My notes are here for reference.
