I handled it by deleting the element. You can remove it by right-clicking and selecting delete, or using the DEL key on your keyboard.

Really? I've tried right-clicking and deleting, but I thought that would help. It feels like it's trying to find where the files originally went in C:, but I just downloaded it to my G: drive. I'm stuck on how to adjust the paths.

You might attempt removing them via the command prompt, employing the 'del' command

Instead of removing it from the desktop, open File Explorer and delete it from the Desktop folder. If that doesn’t work, use the command prompt: cd desktop dir to view files and extensions. For long filenames, run dir /x "file.ext" to list shortened versions. Replace <file.ext> with your actual file name and extension.

Will it actually remove the app from your system? I only need the shortcut off the desktop.

The files aren't on the desktop unless you specifically install them there. Therefore, it won't remove the programs, only the shortcuts on the desktop.
