I've checked my Asus UX31LA and the problem seems to be with the headphone jack. The main challenge is that my laptop mistakenly thinks it has headphones connected, which prevents the speakers from working. I've avoided using aftermarket Conextant drivers because they require a forced installation, but I'm looking for a workaround to restore normal operation. Any suggestions?

No, I haven't tried disabling jack detection.

Located online yet seems accurate, Windows 10: Launch Start, type regedit, press Enter. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0007\GlobalSettings. Right-click the REG_BINARY, choose EnableDynamicDevices, click Modify, and adjust to 0.
