You recently switched to Windows 11 and are finding the large menu bar at the top annoying. Someone might know how to hide it.

I felt the same after trying Win 11 on my device today. It was my first real experience with it, so I’m checking this discussion to find any UI adjustments others might suggest.

Windows 11’s overall design is impressive, though some aspects feel a bit clunky. It uses up quite a bit of space, which isn’t ideal. I also had to adjust the registry settings to hide the new context menu that requires right-clicking instead of just left-clicking. Despite these small annoyances, the centered taskbar and the updated dark mode are standout features. This version has been quite enjoyable so far—over a decade of use!

You can try navigating to the "..." option in the menu bar to remove it.

I've discovered several guides on eliminating the white menu bar mentioned, though none include the specific bar you're asking about. The reference in the original post points to a red bar in the discussion.

It looks like the situation is fixed as of now (26/07/23). No further adjustments or registry changes are possible. You're stuck, but at least you've got a clear path forward. Classic Microsoft.

I didn't really see the compact view feature! It also surprised me. Appreciate the correction.
