The Google Play app has shown inconsistent performance, which is why I've had issues with it.
It remains in the alpha or beta phase right now. Personally, it doesn’t seem to add much value since the last time I tried, you couldn’t log in or share content. I suppose a few users might stick around, but it’s not something I’m interested in.
