With Win10 it was easy to change the connection, but in Win11 it keeps switching back to Ethernet no matter what settings you use. Since I'm connected via powerline, I choose Ethernet for MP games, but I'd like faster downloads on WiFi for YouTube and other sites.

this method allows you to avoid using Windows settings and instead connect directly via Wi-Fi without plugging in or disconnecting cables. Another choice is to access the Device Manager, turn off your network adapter, and set Wi-Fi as your primary internet source.

Search for an app named ForceBindIP, it will enable binding an application to any desired network interface.

In Windows 11, the method for changing between Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections differs slightly from Windows 10. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to manually choose your preferred network.

Click the network icon in the system tray on the taskbar. It should look like the Wi-Fi signal indicator or a computer screen with a cable.
A menu will appear displaying the available network options. Identify the Wi-Fi and Ethernet choices.
Choose the network you wish to use more often. For instance, if you prefer Ethernet, pick the Ethernet option.
After making your selection, Windows 11 will set it as the active connection for the current session. Remember, this preference might not remain after a reboot or if network conditions shift.

To keep your chosen network active even after restarting or network changes, adjust the network adapter priority:
Press the Windows key + X on your keyboard and choose "Network Connections" from the options that appear. This opens the Network Connections interface.

In this window, press the Alt key to access the menu bar. Select "Advanced," then pick "Advanced Settings."
The dialog will list all network connections. The top option has the highest priority, while the bottom one has the lowest.
To reorder them, use the arrow buttons on the right side of the window to move the desired connection up or down. Arrange them so Ethernet is at the top and Wi-Fi below it.
After arranging, click "OK" to confirm your changes.

By fine-tuning the network adapter priority, Windows 11 will retain your preferred connection order even after reboots or network adjustments.
