To reset CMOS (from the ASUS website): First, shut down the machine and disconnect the power supply. Next, use metal connectors to connect two jumper caps in a short circuit for 5-10 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and power on the computer. While booting, press the <Del> key and enter BIOS settings to restore data. *If these steps fail, remove the internal battery and reapply the jumpers to clear the CMOS RTC RAM information.* Once done, reinstall the battery.
