I understand this has been discussed many times before, so I’m sorry ahead of time. I was hoping your insight could assist me in reaching a decision. I just purchased Cyberpunk 2077 at a very affordable price and have started playing on my current system: an Intel i5 13600k with 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 3000C15 processor, RX Vega 64 graphics. Since I only have a 1080p monitor, the extra resolution isn’t a concern for me. Right now I’m using the medium settings and haven’t enabled any of AMD’s enhancements because they don’t look as good on my setup. I’m aiming for ray tracing and want to see if it improves performance. My friend is selling his 3070ti for around £300, which would be a great deal—especially with the Gigabyte OC Vision version. It seems like a smart move, especially since it matches my white case and I have a new card that still looks fresh. I’m curious whether upgrading to a 3080 or higher will really boost FPS in Cyberpunk with the RTX graphics, or if I’ll need something even more powerful. Thanks everyone for your advice.
Consider checking YouTube for the 3070ti cyberpunk benchmark or related content. I'll provide a link and review the timestamps. The system he's using matches your Intel 13700k, but it has 32GB of 3200MHz RAM.
Thanks for sharing, I hadn’t encountered this before. I found a few similar ones, but this one covers everything I was looking for. Hope it doesn’t significantly affect the gameplay. DDR4 is really affordable right now, though I can’t predict if it’ll become a bottleneck. It still seems confusing how the game works—it probably launched before any cards could handle the highest settings. Anyway, I’m sure this has been discussed before. This video was really helpful; I didn’t realize I missed it during my research. It looks like the 3070ti can run at its maximum in 1080p, so I might be willing to try it out for that price.
No Problem! One can't find every single video out there, its a flooded market! This video does show an insane amount of variations! Glad you found help in this Cyberpunk 2077 launched rough and had a lot of performance issues, most have been fixed. The game is visually stunning and it sure is a system hog. We had our Crysis back in the day and Cyberpunk is the new Crysis in my opinion. 3070ti and 13600k is a good combo! 16GB should still be quite decent but 32GB is definitely the new normal. Maybe buy some new RAM on Black Friday or if you see a decent deal. Hogwarts Legacy does not like 16GB of DDR5.
I haven’t actually played Crisis I. I’ve stuck mostly with HL titles lately, though I’ve been diving into CS:GO lately and the Vega is performing well. HL1 was my first FPS experience, so I upgraded my rig for HL2. I was at university then, which made it tough. Ignoring my age… I’m keen to try Cyberpunk, but the first hour was mixed. My old Vega 64 feels a bit dated, especially since CS2 is coming soon—I might need a replacement anyway. The 3070ti got some bad reviews mainly because of its price, but it’s decent value and cheaper than similar cards. Compared to the 3080, 3090, 4070, etc., the jump in cost is noticeable. Since I play at 1080p 165Hz, those might not be essential. On RAM, I’ll check hwinfo to see if there are any issues. Not planning a DDR5 upgrade this year; my CPU supports it, so I’ll likely get a new board and RAM later.
I just watched HL two plus both episodes and Black Mesa episodes last week. They were really enjoyable. 3070ti had some rough moments but the current price is fair. Strongly suggest Red Dead Redemption 2, Witcher 3, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Visually striking titles with compelling narratives and gameplay—perfect if you haven’t tried them yet. Happy gaming!
I usually revisit the HL games every few years. I tried the Black Mesa mod before Xen was even released, but two years ago I got a full version on Steam—it was a solid start. Apart from Interloper, that part was really disappointing. I think I’ll do it all over again, but I’m hoping to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 once I get the card. My friend who’s selling me is into Red Dead 2, and I’ve played a bit on his Xbox—it’s really good. Looking forward to adding this card; I’ve had a Vega before, but it’s sad to see it go. The coil whine is still an issue for me!
