I own an ISP-rendered router (AT&T) with gigabit fiber. Can I connect another router using the broadband cable from the provider? Other inquiries for those sharing the same connection—AT&T can remotely control your device if you encounter problems. Might that limit using a non-ISP router? Yes, please clarify. Thanks, redman317

Avoid using ATT. The internet stays secure because encryption is active, and the keys stay inside their router. This prevents other devices from connecting unless you manually change settings. Simply swap in your own router and turn off Wi-Fi and other features for better control.

They mentioned pass-through, but what matters is whether a faster router exists; even if the configuration seems fine, it might slow things down.

The router needs to support the connection speed and the number of simultaneous connections typical in homes or small businesses. For large volumes of connections or faster plans, the service offers more features (though not suitable for residential use).
