I'm using an ASUS X571GT laptop with specs like an i5-8300H, a GTX 1650 card, and Windows 10. Even though I installed the latest drivers, things have been fine for one year now. But recently, my games are giving me serious FPS drops in everything. It's so bad that League of Legends used to be at 80 fps but is now dropping down to just 10 fps. Pubg also struggles to keep stable 60 fps on almost any game I try. My user benchmark results show this terrible result for my laptop.

Hi there! Check if your laptop needs a BIOS update first. I can't find an Asus page for you because they might be down on their website. You said you're running Windows 10, but which version or edition are you using? For your computer setup, please try removing the old graphics drivers and then installing new ones from Nvidia's official site. Make sure to click "Run as Administrator" when you run the installer. Let me know if this helps!

thanks for your reply, here is the link where i can find driver downloads for my asus laptop: ASUS X571 | Laptops For Home | ASUS Global. I found two options and i am not sure which one to pick. update: i checked and it says that my bios version (311) is already the latest one on their website, so maybe i dont need to update it. also i am running windows 10 home in single language with version 21H2. by any chance, can you give me a step-by-step guide on how to use DDU to remove GPU drivers? thanks so much!

Causes for this specific problem are hard to find because many different things can make it happen. A few years ago I had exactly this same trouble. What fixed it for me specifically was changing my Windows power settings from Balanced to High Performance. When you use the "Balanced" option, your computer can change the voltage and clock speed of some parts of your hardware, which makes performance jump around. Overclocking does too, whether that's custom tuning or Intel's turbo boost feature. If you're doing custom overclocking, I'd better make sure it was done right and turn it off if needed. Also, if your CPU has a turbo feature from the factory, try turning that off too, just in case your issue goes away after changing power settings. If none of those steps help, try temporarily shutting down your anti-virus program and Windows Game Mode to see if either one is causing the problem. If that still doesn't work, you'll have to look deeper into this yourself.
