I once owned an older computer I assembled using free components in 2017. It was used for experimenting and testing games on an Intel Q6600 with 6GB RAM, DDR2, a 1TB HDD, and an Intel GT 710 with 1GB of slower DDR3. Running at 1360x768 at low to medium settings I achieved around 40fps, 70fps mostly stayed near 48fps, and 55fps most of the time. If you were me, upgrading the CPU to a Q6600 would have significantly improved performance, and those parts are very affordable.
