The latest Linus video mentioned that certain HDDs come with preinstalled Windows. When I removed my old HDD from an all-in-one unit and used Dell Data Safe to wipe it, I noticed Windows remained. If I inserted it back into the motherboard, would those files still exist?

The PC arrived fully installed without any disk included. I wasn’t sure how to remove it or if it remained on the main hard drive. It’s possible it was moved elsewhere.

It seems this statement is puzzling. In fact, previous versions of Windows typically couldn't identify new motherboards unless you reset and reinstalled them.

You can use software tools to delete or erase specific drives, such as C, from a system. It’s important to understand that attempting to wipe data completely is technically challenging and may require specialized methods. If you’re using Dell software, ensure you follow proper procedures to safely remove the drive while preserving other data.

The actual files could exist, but there’s no access to them and they’re probably damaged.
