You can check the bios changes by comparing versions or using a tool that logs modifications. To recover altered settings, look for saved backups or use a recovery utility before the update.

The most effective approach is to record your current settings. After the update, compare them with the previous configuration to verify consistency. If needed, note your present settings and restore defaults to identify any changes.

I usually capture a few screenshots of the BIOS in menus I’m familiar with (most often a hotkey saves them to a flash drive). You can also snap photos directly from your phone or take a snapshot of the monitor. Another method is saving the BIOS settings to a USB drive and attempting to load the profile on the new system, though these profiles rarely transfer between different BIOS versions—just accept that as a possibility.

Certain boards (like ASUS) show a list of modified settings when you click "save and exit." If this happens, I perform a "reset defaults," then go back to "save and exit" and capture images of the system returning to its original state without actually applying the changes.
