Most people here in India use multiple SIM cards. We recently got three more, each for one person. We don’t have phones to store them. I prefer using the SIMs on a computer instead of swapping or buying multiple phones since one can’t handle three SIMs. We mainly need them for reading texts or OTPs.

Having three SIMs suggests three phone numbers are needed. It makes sense to have extra SIMs for work purposes. You can use them for personal use and two for professional jobs. Yes, it's possible. Just get a SIM reader and set up an eSIM. A quick online search will guide you through the process.

Yes, you can technically read SMS using modems, though it’s not common. Modems can connect to the internet and retrieve messages from mobile networks, allowing you to view them directly.

different requirements. keep banks apart from other items, maintain distinct WhatsApp channels, assign numbers to stores. In reality, India permits up to 9 SIMs per individual.

The modem supports 4G, 5G, or LTE. Some providers send an SMS confirmation to enable the connection. My Huawei 5G modem includes a section to view SMS if required. Why is there government regulation for this? It seems more complicated for those handling it than for others. I currently use six SIM cards—two for work and four for personal use. Out of these, only three support text or voice; the rest are just for mobile internet.

The government appears to protect citizens, but this raises concerns about internet restrictions. Many worry these shutdowns limit access and may be used to control information.
