I have RAM and the i7 4790 performs better than that CPU.

Certainly! Here are some similar Xeon processors you might consider:

- Intel Xeon Scalable Processors
- AMD EPYC series
- Intel Core processors with Xeon variants
- Other high-performance server CPUs from the same manufacturer or brand

Let me know if you need more details!

This model is LGA2011, matching the X79 compatible server chipset.

Be mindful, probably SATA1/2, USB2, PCIe2 etc – these features are impressive but come with uncertainties (no assurance).

Contact the seller, ask about the actual ports on the motherboard. You will find that alot of these motherboards use SATA I/II (not SATA III current standard), USB 2.0, no 3.0+, the addon slots are usually lower as well, like PCIe 1 or 2, instead of 3 or (you wont find one with 4 imho). They typically will tell you, if they know (been there done that) or they will say there is no gaurantee what you will get.

2011 doesn't matter much. The relevance comes from affordable multi-core Xeons like the E5 2670 v3 12 core, which recently dropped around $10 on AliExpress, or the E5 2683 v4 18 core, roughly $80 a couple of months ago. If you need many cores, go with 2011-3. For gaming, opt for a budget used Ryzen setup—it'll beat those Xeons while offering better efficiency and avoiding the problems you might face on Chinese boards, like Windows sleep issues. DDR4 memory is now inexpensive, and if you want to save extra, used 2666 boards are cheap, though they're usually sold as basic stock rather than premium units.

I don’t get Ryzen well, but if you spot a Ryzen setup that beats this one for around $75 to $80, I’ll definitely buy it.

I’ve worked extensively with those Chinese salvage motherboards. As @Tristerin notes, proceed with caution—what you see doesn’t always match reality. Avoid overclocking and temperature monitoring, as they can lead to inaccurate readings or even hardlock your system. They’re affordable and offer good value, but quality varies; be prepared for frustration if the board isn’t reliable.
