For using a Linux install as a Windows storage drive, you'll need a filesystem that works with both OSes smoothly. WinBTRFS is a good option—it's a Windows driver developed by the reactOS team, offering stability and many btrfs features.

The name suggests it's limited to Btrfs, but you mentioned the drive is formatted as ext4. Check the official documentation at the provided links for compatibility details.

Attempted both options, neither suited my needs. ext4 can be transformed into btrfs https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/..._from_Ext3

Thanks for the advice! I'm now editing on Linux and using ngl. It doesn't seem to be very useful for Windows anymore. I really like Linux, and it worked instantly but got carried away for a while so I didn't update. Games run pretty well (lol, Garena doesn't work and BRU means I still have to use Windows, sad). But Linux is super friendly, especially on distros like Pop!O.

I could have simply chosen Fat32, but I considered it a few hours after installing.

FAT32 has constraints, so I’d steer clear of it for the operating system drive.

But for storage, I can still handle it... unfortunately, I can only read and copy from other drives, which would have been helpful if I’d been larger. I mainly deal with video files and PDFs, so Fat32 wasn’t a big issue.

FAT32 restricts file sizes to a maximum of 4GB, which isn't suitable for storing big video files...
