At some point this year I might need to upgrade my computer. With all the temporary fixes available, can I set up a fake Windows account that I don’t intend to use much like [email protected]? Or I could switch to an MS account I’ve used before but not on Windows. Install Windows through that account, turn it on, make a local admin user mainly because I don’t want a network account for my admin role. Give the local admin rights and then remove the admin from the Windows account. Then create another local account without admin privileges so the machine has a Microsoft account, but I won’t log in with it. I’m worried there could be an issue when trying to access the Microsoft Store.

I've tried similar steps before, but not exactly the same.
1. Set up Windows using an online account.
2. Generate a load account with admin privileges.
3. Remove the user linked to the online account.
The store didn't require an online account for free items, though I haven't used it in a while and don't know if policies have changed.

You might use Rufus to build a tailored setup, eliminating the need for an online Microsoft account.

Understood, I'll keep the explanation straightforward.

Use the bypass method correctly. Keep following the instructions and turn off the internet connection.

Perhaps later I'll test it in a VM.

yeah, but you'll still need to maintain that "dummy" account making it not really a dummy account... ask my plethora of "phil.spencer@outlook" accounts... none of them is working anymore!!! (and idk why ) maybe just maybe it would be better to not create a ms account at all? just an idea!
