Four years ago I assembled an R5 3400G with 16GB of single-channel RAM. I purchased a Crosair Vengance Pro RGB 1x16GB at 3200MHz. I’m considering switching to a dual-channel setup, but the Crosair Vengance Pro RGB 1x16GB is no longer in stock. Instead, I found an alternative Crosair Vengance Pro RGB 1x8GB at the same specs. Could I connect both units together to achieve dual-channel performance? My motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M DSH3.

It's referred to as hybrid dual channel. Only the initial 16G will operate in dual channel mode, with the remaining capacity being slower. You can use any additional 16G module unless you're misjudging your needs.

Order a different 16GB drive offering that performance right away. Just because a second Corsair Vengeance is available doesn't mean they're identical.

I don’t want to mix RAM sticks from various brands. I mentioned this earlier since Crosair no longer offers a RGB Pro 1x16GB stick.
