Yes, it's advisable to update the BIOS for the AMD Sempron 150 released in December 2010 and the AMD Athlon II X4 635 released in January 2010.

Since the Sempron launched nearly a year after it, it’s unlikely the BIOS lacked Athlon support. Therefore, upgrading the BIOS shouldn’t be required.

Is there something like that on your PC? It has a power draw of 286W. Using it as built-in graphics on any motherboard—especially a cheap one from years ago—is practically impossible.

Thank you for your update! The Sempron 150 2.9 GHz was upgraded to an Athlon II X4 640 with a 3.0 GHz clock speed, and the fan was also replaced.
