I was thinking about whether I could boost the overclock of an i3 12100f on an ASRock B660 Pro motherboard. Here are my details: core i3 12100f, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz, 650W PSU, ASRock B660 Pro, and a Seagate Barracuda HDD.

Only a few LGA 1700 motherboards support overclocking non-K CPUs, and even fewer offer BIOS updates for this purpose. The B660 Pro RS doesn’t qualify. For compatible options with available updates, check the community page: https://community.hwbot.org/topic/210553...-versions/

It doesn’t make sense at all—there really shouldn’t be any room for custom heads on those chips, right?

Many of them exceed 5GHz across all cores after overclocking, moving from the around 4GHz stock setting. Non-K chips offer significant flexibility. Top models can reach 5.2 to 5.3GHz all-core stability with Prime95 Small FFT.
