I checked GTA IV and noticed the frame rate is quite low—mostly around 40fps. My GPU usage seems minimal, but I’m curious why it isn’t utilizing my graphics card fully. I understand GTA IV has some issues with PC ports, but there’s something I’d like to know about improving the performance. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions soon!

You're seeing 60-80 FPS on your GTX 760 at 1080p. That's great!

if your GPU has more tha 2GB ram GTA4 will recognize it as LESS THAN 2GB which is bad. Luckily there is a fix. Just right click on the icon of GTA4 go to properties and in the Shortcut tab paste " -nomemrestrict -norestrictions" without " after the GTA4 exe. So it will look like this: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -nomemrestrict -norestrictions that might fix it

It didn’t really assist much, but I tried using the in-game auto-settings feature which automatically adjusts the parameters. That helped bring the FPS up to 100. Maybe adding an ENB mod would improve the overall performance and stability.

It's a terrible PC port and it will always be that way, but still attempt to play Shadows at lower quality, Night Shadows off, and turn off V Sync if you haven't already. Those were the main reasons for low FPS in my experience with GTA 4 over the years.

This game relies heavily on the CPU and has one of the poorest ports available. The only way to boost performance is through overclocking or using a more powerful processor. You likely have a solid system already. It’s about as smooth as it can get.

It functions smoothly on my system, yet the distance between objects remains poor, causing textures to reload each time I change orientation.

Some gamers experienced slowdowns following the newest patch, and developers have confirmed awareness, suggesting a potential resolution soon. Disregard those concerns.

That's a bit confusing, but it sounds like you're trying to highlight how overwhelming the topic of GTA 5 can be. You're suggesting that with so many discussions each day, it might feel like part of a larger list.
