Try optimizing your system settings and reducing background processes. Limit the number of active tabs and close unused applications. Check for resource-heavy programs and consider freeing up memory by closing unnecessary services. Adjust power management options to prioritize stability over performance. If memory issues persist, you may need to upgrade hardware or reinstall a more stable OS version.
Consider launching the command prompt with admin rights and executing both commands; DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (may require time) and sfc /scannow
If RAM is faulty, get rid of it or return it through RMA if possible. There’s no advantage in trying to fix it yourself or pretending you’re using only half the memory. I understand the cost of RAM, but avoid unnecessary fixes like de-bloating scripts or software that claim to improve performance. If you did skip a fresh install, don’t repeat that action.
I handled that and I'm going to check how it all works out. I'm not sure what to say. Upgrading my RAM isn't an option. I'll return the sticks to the seller for warranty, but if it's voided somehow, I'm stuck with just this working stick. I also really need the PC for a few more weeks at least, so again, I have no choice but to keep using it with one stick right now. What I can count on is just basic fixes.
It seems you moved from 32GB DC to 16GB SC. That’s not ideal for your needs. However, 16GB works just fine for W11 and everyday tasks. Remove any unused programs—they often launch automatically. Turn off their startup settings and review the task scheduler if any software is configured to start them.
In fact, a manually cleaned W11 with only a few Chrome tabs and an MP3 player can run under 5GB at boot and stay under 10GB even with those running. So 16GB isn’t necessary right now. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to play large games yet. If your system is using more space, share details from the Task Manager about what’s consuming it. Many programs set up auto-start, so you may need a fresh installation for both drives. You’ll want to keep one drive functional if that’s your intention.
I handle things well enough. Professional tasks aren’t necessary for me, so 32GB isn’t essential. What I truly need are Chrome tabs, Office, Krita, and sometimes SolidWorks or AutoCAD (which can be a bit of an issue when many programs run at once, though I can close them temporarily—it’s not too much). For games, the only ones that really lag when others are running are World of Tanks and Helldivers 2, which I’m putting on hold for now, but it’s not a major problem. Mostly, my games are light. With Steam, Chrome, Spotify, and Discord running, I’m using about 8GB, which seems sufficient. I try to keep unnecessary programs off startup, and a quick look at my desktop shows I don’t have many unused items. As part of the warranty, I must send both drives even if one works perfectly. I’m okay with missing a week or two of PC use; I just need it for studying, submitting work, and maybe printing occasionally.
