I can set up Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on a system with just 2GB of RAM. :blush Note that the recommended minimum is usually around 4GB.

At 7850OC you can proceed, but be cautious. You'll only get 700MB of free memory since 64-bit Windows uses more space than 32-bit. It will repeatedly warn about low memory. Consider switching to a 32-bit version or increasing your RAM to at least 4GB.

You have the option, but why?

Sure, it's okay if it's not perfect; just consider adding a bit more RAM if you really need it.

It will function, but performance will be limited because drivers and resources consume significant memory.

I installed Windows 7 on an Athlon X2 5200+, with 2 GB RAM and a Radeon HD 4890 graphics card. I used it mostly for Minecraft, Sniper Ghost Warrior, and classic titles.

Yes, but it seems unnecessary. After a fresh setup, RAM consumption is about 1.1GB, not counting the BIOS allocations for the GPU. My machine might have a dedicated GPU with 1GB reserved, plus extra space shared for the iGPU.

Great update, thanks! The machine runs on an older motherboard GPU and uses 256MB from RAM, bringing it down to 1792MB. Blush I’m not keen on getting new DDR3L RAM — it’s hard to find and costly. Also, I only have one RAM slot, so switching from 2GB to 4GB won’t help the old 2GB DDR3L at all.

already finished and verified, functions (slow okay) – thanks everyone. Installing the updates is now more complex (1792 MB), so I added a 2GB micro SD card for extra RAM support.
