You're certain you can allocate a GPU through the NVIDIA control panel for gaming tasks. I'm not familiar with AMD's setup.

For games like SLI or Crossfire, all cards need to match. If you need the APU for another purpose than the cards themselves, it's possible, but they won't be able to handle the same task as the original game.
